Job Overview:
A law firm in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a dedicated attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role involves working on cases related to Title IX, civil rights, and regulatory compliance. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of issues involving institutional misconduct, policy development, and compliance while supporting clients across various sectors.

Duties:

  • Conduct investigations involving Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or other civil rights or criminal laws.
  • Address cases of sexual and gender-based harassment, protected class discrimination, and child or elder abuse.
  • Assist institutions in developing and implementing trauma-informed and impartial prevention and resolution processes.
  • Draft and refine policies, procedures, and educational materials for compliance and organizational improvement.
  • Provide advisory services on regulatory frameworks, including Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection standards.
  • Collaborate with clients such as educational institutions, corporations, hospitals, religious organizations, and non-profits to address misconduct and compliance issues.
  • Travel as required for client engagements and investigations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Title IX, the Clery Act, and related regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in handling cases of harassment, discrimination, and abuse prevention and response.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Experience in policy design, governance, and compliance strategy is preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (PA).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active legal license in Pennsylvania is mandatory.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of civil rights, Title IX, and regulatory laws.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for client collaboration.
