Duties:

  • Assist in developing renewable energy projects by providing developers, sponsors, and investors with tax expertise and support.
  • Collaborate with the Energy & Infrastructure group to structure and execute tax equity financings and M&A transactions in the renewable energy sector.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and precedents to provide informed guidance on transactional matters.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to renewable energy transactions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties to facilitate the successful completion of projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legislative developments, and emerging best practices in renewable energy taxation.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of transactional tax experience, preferably in a large law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of tax aspects related to renewable energy transactions, including tax equity financings and M&A.
  • Experience with partnership tax or tax credit structuring is advantageous, particularly in the context of renewable energy projects.
  • Membership to the California State Bar is required.
  • Highly motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think logically, conduct thorough research, and organize complex information effectively.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
