A law firm in Washington, D.C., seeks a Public Company Associate Attorney to join their team. The role involves closely collaborating with the Public Company Advisory group to provide support in day-to-day securities law counseling, SEC reporting, and corporate governance matters. The ideal candidate should have 4 or 5 years of experience advising public companies on securities law compliance, disclosure, and corporate governance. Superior academic credentials, strong communication skills, a solid understanding of securities laws, and a demonstrated interest in public company compliance and corporate governance are essential.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Public Company Advisory group to provide securities law counseling.
  • Assist in SEC reporting and compliance for public companies.
  • Offer guidance on corporate governance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on securities laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to securities filings and corporate governance.
  • Provide advice on disclosure requirements and best practices for public companies.
  • Participate in due diligence for corporate transactions involving public companies.

Requirements:

  • 4 or 5 years of experience advising public companies on securities law compliance, disclosure, and corporate governance matters.
  • Superior academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated understanding of securities laws and regulations.
  • Interest in public company compliance and corporate governance.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in securities law compliance and SEC reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with corporate transactions involving public companies.
