Job Title: Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney. Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal cases, including pre-trial hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding their legal rights and options.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Appear in court for arraignments, bail hearings, and pre-trial conferences.
  • Negotiate plea deals or settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm.
  • Attend continuing legal education (CLE) events and stay updated on legal developments.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in criminal defense preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in legal research, drafting motions, and trial work.
  • Willingness to relocate to Bend, Oregon, if not currently residing in Central Oregon.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active Oregon Bar license required.
