Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A well-established law firm in Missoula, MT, is seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to represent clients in various practice areas, including family law, criminal defense, probate and estates, and civil litigation. The successful candidate will assist senior attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and trial preparation, while also gaining valuable experience in a variety of legal matters.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents such as motions, briefs, discovery, affidavits, opinion letters, contracts, and agreements
• Attend hearings, trials, and depositions
• Prepare case reports for trial
• Investigate and gather facts relevant to litigation matters
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients
• Manage and track case progress and deadlines
• Assist senior attorneys with case strategy and legal proceedings
• Perform other duties as assigned, depending on client needs

Requirements

• Active Montana State Bar license and good standing (required)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong work ethic and dedication to client needs
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in legal research and use of legal databases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with legal software and office applications

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Montana State Bar license (required)
