Job Title: Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney
Location: San Francisco, CA

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Hatch Waxman litigation, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. The position requires a candidate with high academic achievement, proven law firm experience, and exceptional writing and communication skills. Candidates with technical degrees in chemistry, biology, or related fields are preferred, as they will work on complex pharmaceutical and patent-related litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle various aspects of litigation in Hatch Waxman cases.
  • Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and pleadings for court filings.
  • Participate in all phases of fact and expert discovery, including depositions and preparing expert witnesses.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including drafting motions, preparing trial exhibits, and handling trial logistics.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client management.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships by providing legal counsel and updates.
  • Attend court proceedings, hearings, and client meetings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in California or eligibility to be admitted.
  • 3+ years of experience in Hatch Waxman litigation.
  • Solid law firm experience in commercial litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to draft high-quality legal documents, including briefs and discovery-related materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical and patent litigation.
  • Experience with fact and expert discovery, including deposition and witness preparation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required.
  • Technical degrees (chemistry, biology, or related fields) are highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the California State Bar or eligibility to be admitted.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
