Copyright, Trademark, and Advertising Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled associate to join its Copyright, Trademark, Internet, and Advertising practice group in New York. This role is ideal for an attorney with 2-4 years of litigation experience, particularly in the areas of copyright, trademark, and advertising law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, conducting discovery, preparing legal motions, and supporting clients in matters related to intellectual property.

Duties:

• Prepare and manage discovery for litigation cases, ensuring timely and accurate submission of relevant documents.
• Draft substantive legal motions, memoranda, and briefs to support litigation efforts.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategy and build compelling arguments.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and trial preparation sessions.
• Advise clients on legal issues related to copyright, trademark, advertising, and internet law.
• Assist in copyright and trademark prosecution and counseling.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and client advisory work.
• Prepare written and oral advocacy materials to present in court.
• Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to clients.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on copyright, trademark, advertising, or internet law.
• Strong track record of drafting legal motions, discovery, and other key litigation documents.
• Experience in preparing for and attending court hearings and depositions.
• Familiarity with copyright and trademark prosecution, and internet-related intellectual property issues.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with written and oral advocacy.
• A client-focused approach to legal practice with strong interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic credentials and law school performance.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in New York or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating intellectual property-related legal documents.
• Expertise in copyright, trademark, and advertising law.
• Familiarity with internet-related IP matters and regulations.
