Litigation Attorney

A law firm based in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in defense litigation. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic national trial team specializing in toxic tort cases and civil litigation. This role offers the opportunity to participate in all stages of litigation, from drafting critical motions to making court appearances, while working closely with seasoned attorneys. The candidate should possess strong deposition experience and be adept at managing a diverse caseload of litigated claims.

Duties:

• Participate in all stages of litigation, including case preparation, depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Draft critical motions, written discovery, and briefs.
• Take and defend depositions and handle pretrial motions and discovery disputes.
• Develop case-specific defense strategies and manage a caseload of litigated claims.
• Analyze discovery materials, medical records, and expert defense strategies.
• Research legal issues, investigate people, businesses, and worksites.
• Draft memos and provide client updates.
• Attend and represent clients at depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Work closely with a national trial team and support firm activities.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in defense litigation, with toxic tort experience preferred.
• Actively licensed and in good standing with the State of Missouri and the State of Illinois.
• Substantial deposition experience.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills with superior attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment with exceptional organizational skills.
• Proven ability to juggle priorities and adhere to strict deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Missouri and the State Bar of Illinois.
