A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a talented and experienced Lateral Antitrust Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in analyzing transactions for competition issues, managing merger control filing requirements, and advocating before regulatory agencies such as the DOJ and FTC.

 

Duties:

  • Analyze transactions for competition issues, with a focus on merger control filing requirements.
  • Conduct substantive analysis and address procedural issues related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act and its implementing Rules.
  • Manage filing logistics and ensure compliance with HSR Act requirements.
  • Advocate before regulatory agencies, including the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
  • Provide legal counsel on antitrust matters in technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Relevant Bar admission in Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
  • Demonstrated experience in antitrust law, particularly in analyzing transactions and managing merger control filings.
  • Familiarity with the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act and its procedural requirements.
  • Exceptional academic credentials and previous experience in a comparable law firm setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant Bar admission in Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical abilities to assess competition issues in transactions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of antitrust laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with clients and regulatory agencies.
