A law firm seeks an experienced Environmental Law Partner to join their team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have over ten years of expertise in environmental law, particularly in the areas of real estate, land use, and corporate transactions. This role requires a strong background in litigation, environmental permitting, and developing strategies to mitigate disputes. The candidate should be capable of handling complex environmental matters for clients and working collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on environmental matters, with a focus on real estate and development projects.
  • Represent clients in all phases of environmental litigation, including handling disputes and regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to support the firm’s environmental law practice.
  • Develop and implement environmental compliance and auditing programs to help clients avoid legal challenges.
  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local environmental laws, including brownfields, hazardous materials, and land use regulations.
  • Manage and nurture a diverse client base, including corporations, developers, and project proponents.
  • Play a significant role in structuring real estate transactions to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Assist clients in navigating environmental permitting processes for complex projects.
  • Foster and grow a portable book of business, demonstrating the ability to attract and retain clients in regulated industries.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental law, with a strong focus on real estate and corporate transactions.
  • Proven track record of managing litigation and permitting related to environmental issues.
  • Expertise in federal, state, and local environmental and land use regulations.
  • Experience with brownfield redevelopment and hazardous materials in real estate transactions.
  • Strong ability to maintain and grow a portable book of business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Massachusetts Bar, with active standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in environmental law, litigation, and compliance.
  • Strong client relationship management.
