A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney with a robust background in plaintiff representation and civil jury trials. This role is essential in managing personal injury cases from start to settlement, working closely with a team of skilled professionals to secure justice and fair compensation for clients. The ideal candidate is motivated to advocate vigorously for client rights and deliver positive outcomes.

Duties

  • Handle a comprehensive caseload of personal injury claims, overseeing all litigation phases
  • Conduct detailed investigations to assess liability and damages
  • Draft and file necessary litigation documents, including discovery and motions
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance providers and opposing legal counsel
  • Communicate consistently with clients, keeping them informed about case progress
  • Serve as the lead attorney in civil jury trials, taking cases through to verdict

Requirements

  • Bar Status: Active attorney in good standing, licensed to practice in Illinois
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in personal injury law, with a strong trial background
  • Trial Experience: At least 10 civil jury trials taken to verdict
  • Legal Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of state personal injury laws and procedures
  • Communication: Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, able to draft and review complex legal documents
  • Case Management: Proven record in handling case management and client relations, focusing on achieving favorable outcomes
  • Research Skills: Proficiency in legal research and applying relevant statutes, regulations, and precedents
  • Collaboration: Experience in team-oriented environments, coordinating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required

Education

  • Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • State Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in Illinois
