A law firm in Austin, TX is seeking an Asset Finance and Securitization Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in structured finance and securitization, particularly with Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), consumer Asset Backed Securities (ABS), and other related asset classes. The role requires interaction with a collegial team and the ability to develop relationships within the firm.

 

Duties:

  • Handle legal aspects of structured finance and securitization transactions, including RMBS secured by QM and non-QM mortgage loans, reverse mortgage loans, HELOCs, and Reperforming Loans (RPLs).
  • Work on consumer ABS transactions secured by loans such as marketplace loans, auto loans, credit card receivables, and equipment loans.
  • Additional exposure to transactions involving solar loans, mineral rights, royalties, single-family rental properties, timeshares, and trade receivables is beneficial.
  • Conduct due diligence, draft transaction documents, and manage closings.
  • Provide legal advice and support on regulatory compliance and transactional issues.
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to execute transactions effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in asset finance and securitization at a large law firm or equivalent environment.
  • Strong understanding of structured finance products and securitization techniques.
  • Experience with RMBS, ABS, and familiarity with other asset classes mentioned.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Texas or eligibility for admission by waiver.
