Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Employment-Based Immigration Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing a variety of employment-related immigration matters, including work visas, green cards, and PERM labor certifications. This position requires strong client relationship management skills and the ability to navigate complex immigration processes while ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The attorney will provide expert legal counsel to both individuals and corporations in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of employment-based immigration matters, including visa types such as H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, and green card applications.
  • Guide clients through complex processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. immigration laws, including work authorization and visa options.
  • Prepare and submit visa petitions, including detailed applications and supporting documentation.
  • Represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and other relevant governmental agencies.
  • Collaborate with human resources, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless immigration procedures.
  • Formulate strategies to manage intricate cases, including responding to Requests for Evidence (RFE) and handling appeals.
  • Maintain a thorough tracking system for case status and deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Provide training and guidance to corporate clients on best practices for immigration compliance and managing foreign workers.
  • Stay informed on evolving immigration laws, policies, and trends, ensuring compliance and readiness to handle new challenges.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the state bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment-based immigration law, including direct experience with visa applications and PERM labor certifications.
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. immigration law, with expertise in both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories.
  • Proven ability to manage complex immigration cases, including RFEs and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey legal information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle a high caseload while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working with corporate clients and large organizations is a plus.

Education:

  • Doctoral degree in Law (Juris Doctor - JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant state(s).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment-based immigration processes, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, PERM, and EB visa categories.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent client management and communication abilities.
