Job Overview:

A law firm in Pembroke Pines, FL, seeks an experienced and motivated Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic team. This role involves managing a diverse and fast-paced caseload, leading a team of paralegals, and representing clients in various immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent business acumen, and a passion for helping clients navigate complex immigration issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with potential new clients to assess and evaluate their immigration needs.
  • Coordinate case strategies and legal approaches tailored to individual client circumstances.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and project milestones are met.
  • Supervise and train paralegals and other support staff, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to legal standards.
  • Prepare, review, and revise court documents, including petitions, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client representation.
  • Stay informed on legislative changes and judicial decisions that may impact immigration law.
  • Market the law firm’s services to potential clients and engage in business development activities.
  • Work one Saturday each month, with the potential for bonuses for new clients signed during these days.
  • Cross-sell the law firm’s various practice areas to existing and potential clients.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials, advocating in complex immigration matters.
  • Become an expert on Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, Waivers, and related immigration areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in immigration law.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage a fast-paced caseload and handle day-to-day interactions with potential clients.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and project management abilities.
    • Proficiency in supervising and leading a team.
    • Business acumen with a desire to work in a high-volume, high-growth practice.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

  • Bar Membership: Must hold an active Bar license in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
