Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated entry-level immigration attorney to join its expanding team in Vienna, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with some experience in immigration law to build and strengthen their career. The firm offers a collaborative environment where you will gain experience in various aspects of immigration law while working alongside a team of skilled professionals. Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts.
  • Appear on behalf of clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for family-based immigration matters, adjustment of status, and naturalization processes.
  • Prepare and submit filings to USCIS, including Waivers, VAWA applications, and U Visa petitions.
  • Assist with asylum applications and represent clients in interviews at the Asylum Office.
  • Draft and submit filings to the Department of Labor for PERM and employment-based visa applications.
  • Conduct client meetings, providing clear legal counsel and updates on case status.
  • Prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, affidavits, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) or Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
  • Manage deadlines and case-related tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in immigration law, or a demonstrated interest in the field.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with a state bar (Virginia preferred, but not required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and valid Bar license (Virginia bar is preferred, but other states are acceptable).

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Excellent advocacy skills for oral presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid remote/in-office environment.
