Science Advisor/Patent Agent

A law firm located in Boston, MA, is seeking a Science Advisor/Patent Agent. Preferred candidates will have experience in patent-related tasks, such as drafting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and due diligence for corporate transactions. The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong academic credentials, and hold an M.D. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications and office action responses.
• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
• Perform due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to provide intellectual property support.

Requirements:

• Experience in patent drafting and related tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong academic credentials.
• M.D. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry.
• Law firm experience is strongly preferred.

Education:

• M.D. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry.

Certifications:

• Patent Agent registration is a plus.
