Job Overview: A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to support its Investment Management team. The role involves direct client contact and requires business development acumen. The ideal candidate will have a background in matters relating to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, including registered funds employing alternative investment strategies such as interval funds, tender offer funds, BDCs, and registered advisers. The candidate should possess outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A relevant Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) and a deal sheet are required.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support to the Investment Management team.
  • Engage in direct client interaction.
  • Conduct research and analysis on matters related to investment regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Assist in business development activities.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in matters concerning the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Comparable experience in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
  • Deal sheet demonstrating relevant experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant Bar admission.
