A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a talented Structured Credit and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) Associate Attorney with experience in securitization or structured finance. The ideal candidate should have prior exposure to private credit or CLOs, and experience working in a large law firm environment is strongly preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on legal aspects of structured credit transactions, including CLOs, collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), and other structured finance products.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including offering memoranda, subscription agreements, and credit agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory and compliance issues related to structured credit and securitization transactions.
  • Assist in due diligence reviews and risk assessments for structured credit transactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including finance, tax, and regulatory specialists.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligible for admission by waiver.
  • 3+ years of experience in securitization or structured finance within a law firm setting.
  • Familiarity with private credit transactions and/or CLOs is advantageous.

 

Education:

Strong academic credentials.

 

Certifications (Preferred):

Certification in Securities Regulation or related field.

 

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of structured finance products and transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
