Associate Attorney needed for Ann Arbor office

A law firm in Ann Arbor is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will handle a range of tasks, including drafting organizational documents and policies, advising clients on corporate governance, negotiating contracts, reviewing investments, and providing legal research and advice on tax compliance. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, motivated, and have a strong interest in the nonprofit sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft and review organizational documents, policies, and procedures for clients.
• Advise clients on corporate governance issues and best practices.
• Negotiate and draft contracts and other legal agreements.
• Review and provide guidance on mission-related investments and financial transactions.
• Conduct legal research and provide advice on tax compliance and related matters.
• Manage and oversee multiple legal tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Work closely with clients, including nonprofit organizations, to address their legal needs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in corporate and/or tax transactional matters.
• Preferably experience advising or working with nonprofit organizations.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership with the state Bar in good standing.
• Strong interest in the nonprofit sector.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication abilities.

Education and Certifications:
