Job Overview:
An established law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to gain valuable experience in immigration law. The role involves managing a caseload, handling client interactions, and collaborating with a skilled team of immigration attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:
San Antonio, TX

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases

  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers

  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions

  • Review and adjust immigration application packets as needed

  • Provide legal representation in court hearings and administrative proceedings

  • Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes

  • Meet with potential clients to assess cases and determine legal strategies

  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony

  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits

  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to move legal cases forward efficiently

  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications

  • Familiarity with case management software preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be an admitted attorney in good standing with the state bar

Skills:

  • Strong research and writing skills

  • Excellent communication and client-relations skills

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
