Lateral Associate Attorney needed for Albany office

A law firm in Albany, NY is seeking a motivated Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to handle various aspects of litigation independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of commercial litigation, including but not limited to discovery, depositions, pleadings, and document review.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and motions.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client development.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Experience with discovery processes, depositions, and courtroom proceedings preferred.
• Strong academic credentials and writing skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
