Job Overview:
A well-established law firm specializing in probate and estate planning is seeking a motivated, client-focused Associate Attorney to join its team. This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of estate planning and probate matters, offering a collaborative environment and the chance to help clients navigate complex legal issues related to estate administration and planning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Texas law, particularly in probate, estate planning, and fiduciary matters.

Location:

  • San Antonio, TX

Duties:

  • Represent clients in probate matters, including independent and dependent administration, as well as probate litigation.
  • Advise clients on estate planning matters, including the creation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other related documents.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents with attention to detail and precision.
  • Conduct legal research to stay updated on changes to the Texas Estates Code and related laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and other stakeholders to provide exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Manage case files, ensuring they are accurate and well-organized.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and client meetings as required.
  • Supervise paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing.
  • 2–5 years of experience in probate, estate planning, or a related field (new attorneys with relevant internships or clerkships will be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas Estates Code and estate planning principles.
  • Exceptional legal research and drafting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality legal work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in fiduciary litigation or contested probate cases.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., Clio).
  • Knowledge of tax considerations in estate planning.
