A law firm in Hilliard, OH is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will start by assisting current attorneys in meeting with clients to explain, create, and implement estate and elder law plans. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly learn legal, tax, and financial concepts and effectively communicate these to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior attorneys in developing and implementing comprehensive estate and elder law plans.
  • Meet with clients to explain estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, and advance directives.
  • Provide guidance on legal and tax implications of various estate planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify their estate planning needs and objectives.
  • Conduct legal research on estate and elder law matters to stay updated on current practices and regulations.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings and consultations.
  • Work closely with financial advisors and tax professionals to ensure integrated estate planning solutions.
  • Assist with the administration of estates and trusts, including probate proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar.
  • Strong interest in estate planning and elder law.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, tax, and financial concepts.
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience or coursework in estate planning, trusts, and tax law is preferred.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to estate planning.
