Employment Law Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Law Associate Attorney to join their San Diego, CA office. This full-time position will focus on employment law and civil litigation matters, with a primary emphasis on legal research, case handling, and working closely with clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in litigation, including employment law, and be prepared to take on a range of responsibilities including depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in hearings and depositions.
• Provide sound legal advice and develop case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Handle civil litigation matters from initiation through resolution, focusing on employment law cases.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure timely case progression and successful outcomes.
• Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of litigation experience, with a preference for experience in employment law.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and handle complex legal issues.
• Proven track record of successful depositions and hearings.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Membership in the California State Bar is required.
