Job Overview:
A prominent law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group, specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation. This role involves handling complex litigation and prosecution matters related to patent law and working with clients in high-stakes environments. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic team, managing cases from inception to resolution, and providing leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and paralegals.

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of IP litigation, including patent prosecution and trial procedures
• Draft, review, and file legal briefs, motions, and other litigation-related documents
• Take depositions and interact with clients and opposing counsel
• Work closely with experts to prepare for trial and hearings
• Handle PTAB (Patent Trial and Appeal Board) proceedings
• Supervise and guide junior associates and paralegals in case management
• Provide strategic legal advice and representation in patent litigation matters
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop litigation strategies and manage client relationships

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in IP litigation, including case management and motions practice
• Experience in handling depositions, expert coordination, and PTAB or trial proceedings
• Ability to supervise junior associates and paralegals
• Strong record of case ownership and leadership in litigation teams
• Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain licensure promptly
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities

Education:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• An engineering degree is preferred, especially for those seeking admission to the USPTO

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO is preferred
