The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, with a strong background in insurance coverage law. This role involves analyzing complex insurance coverage issues, drafting significant legal documents, and representing clients in various legal forums. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a high caseload efficiently and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of insurance coverage claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses as needed.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, including formulating case strategies and presenting evidence.
  • Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Handle travel related to client meetings, court appearances, and depositions as required.
  • Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate excellent client interaction skills and maintain a professional telephone manner.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida; admission in additional states is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage law is preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid research capabilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage while working effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases while meeting billable hour requirements.
  • Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Florida; additional state admissions are advantageous.
