Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise healthcare providers on legal issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement.
  • Assist healthcare organizations with corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Provide counsel on regulatory compliance matters, including fraud and abuse laws, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and HIPAA.
  • Conduct legal research on emerging trends in health law and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Draft and review contracts, policies, and other legal documents related to healthcare transactions and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team on projects involving healthcare litigation, administrative hearings, and regulatory investigations.
  • Provide clients with legal advice on risk management, corporate governance, and operational compliance within the healthcare sector.
  • Take ownership of projects, managing multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory developments impacting healthcare law and advise clients accordingly.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in corporate law (particularly mergers and acquisitions), healthcare law, and/or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interest in health law issues and trends, with a focus on healthcare providers.
  • Background in corporate transactions, preferably involving provider healthcare organizations.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and HIPAA (preferred).
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required).

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active New York State Bar license (required).
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
