Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm in Charlotte is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Attorney with 4–10 years of experience to join its expanding Commercial Real Estate Practice Group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team of attorneys representing clients in acquisitions, developments, commercial financing, leasing, and land use matters. The position is ideal for a self-motivated attorney with a strong background in real estate transactions and a desire to contribute to complex projects and long-term client relationships.

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, and development projects

  • Draft and negotiate leases, subleases, easements, declarations, and related title documents

  • Review and negotiate title commitments and resolve title issues

  • Advise on zoning, land use, rezoning, and condemnation matters

  • Provide legal guidance on tax-advantaged real estate strategies, including 1031 exchanges and opportunity zones

  • Draft and negotiate joint venture agreements and other real estate partnership structures

  • Structure and negotiate commercial financing and loan transactions

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to deliver comprehensive legal solutions

Requirements:

  • 4–10 years of commercial real estate experience preferred

  • Attorneys with strong residential real estate backgrounds and experience in title review will also be considered

  • Ability to independently manage real estate transactions from start to finish

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with clients and handling contract negotiations

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina (required)

  • Admission to the South Carolina Bar (preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • In-depth understanding of real estate law and title issues

  • Familiarity with land use, zoning, and tax structuring in real estate deals

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative mindset with a client-focused approach to legal service
