Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join their team. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and complex legal matters. The role focuses on General Liability and Professional Liability cases and involves hands-on litigation practice in both state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial.
• Conduct court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Perform detailed legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Manage discovery, including drafting requests, responding to discovery demands, and reviewing documents.
• Summarize depositions, and discovery responses, and prepare case reports.
• Provide regular updates and legal advice to clients regarding case progress and strategies.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve disputes and achieve favorable outcomes.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Connecticut (CT Bar admission required).
• Strong experience in civil litigation, including General Liability and Professional Liability matters.
• Familiarity with federal and state rules of civil procedure.
• Proven ability to draft discovery requests and responses, argue motions and take depositions.
• Exceptional writing, research, and organizational skills.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced and demanding legal environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Connecticut State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
