Job Overview:
A premier law firm located in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a skilled Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-4 years of immigration law experience to expand their career within a growing and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for immigration law, possess strong client interaction skills, and thrive in a team-based setting. The role will involve managing a variety of immigration cases, working with clients, and engaging in strategic legal planning.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Provide counsel and present strategic solutions for clients in immigration-related matters.
  • Handle and manage a caseload of diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS matters.
  • Prepare clients for court and USCIS hearings, developing strategies for testimony.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration centers.
  • Draft and file legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to address changes in immigration law.
  • Provide legal analysis and advice to clients on case benefits and possible strategies.
  • Continuously review and refine immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proven track record of advancing legal cases and client satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR procedures, legal writing, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop strategic legal solutions in complex immigration cases.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
