Litigation Attorney

Duties

• Represent K-12 schools and community colleges in civil litigation matters.
• Handle all aspects of the litigation process, including case initiation, motion drafting, deposition taking/defending, and case resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, such as summary judgments, to effectively represent clients’ interests.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong cases.
• Collaborate with team members while managing a full caseload independently.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of litigation experience, ideally covering a wide range of civil litigation.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions, with experience in depositions.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage cases independently from start to finish.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• Background in insurance defense and public entity defense.
• Federal court and trial experience is a plus but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California Bar.
