Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is looking to engage a passionate and skilled Bilingual Immigration Attorney to represent and advocate for clients in complex immigration cases. This role is essential in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds through various immigration processes, including those facing removal proceedings. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating immigration law intricacies, handling high-stakes cases, and providing empathetic client service.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration court, including in-person, video, or telephone hearings, particularly in removal proceedings.
  • Engage in consultations with clients, preparing them thoroughly for legal processes.
  • Provide clear, timely communication to clients regarding case progress and status updates.
  • Manage cases of clients detained in ICE custody, including handling petitions and waivers.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support cases effectively.
  • Review, oversee, and prepare immigration applications and petitions submitted to relevant agencies, including USCIS and ICE.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as briefs, appeals, and motions for court proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.).
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in immigration law, particularly in removal defense; however, candidates with relevant immigration experience will be considered.
  • Strong research, writing, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Interpersonal skills with a commitment to client-centered advocacy.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must hold a license to practice law and be in good standing.

Skills:
