Job Overview: An established law firm located in Central Wisconsin is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm specializes in Social Security Disability, Worker’s Compensation, and Elder Law, and is open to expanding into other areas depending on the applicant’s interests. Duties:

  • Provide legal representation in Social Security Disability claims, Worker’s Compensation cases, and other practice areas.
  • Prepare and present cases at hearings, including examining and cross-examining witnesses in administrative law settings.
  • Manage and communicate with clients to understand and address their legal needs.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Perform legal research and analysis to support cases.
  • Participate in client management, negotiations, and settlements.
  • Assist in other areas of law as needed based on the firm's expansions and client demand.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Strong legal writing and briefing skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact empathetically with clients.
  • Ability to handle hearings and administrative law proceedings.
  • Experience in Social Security Disability, Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, or Civil Litigation is a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Wisconsin State Bar License.
