Job Overview: A law firm specializing in intellectual property law is seeking a Mid-Level Pharmaceutical Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Redwood City, CA. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical patent litigation, including Hatch-Waxman litigation, and assist in various aspects of counseling patent disputes.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents related to pharmaceutical patent litigation.
  • Assist senior attorneys in case management and strategy development for patent disputes.
  • Analyze and interpret scientific and technical documents related to pharmaceutical patents.
  • Participate in deposition preparation, witness interviews, and trial preparation as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients and experts in the pharmaceutical industry to gather evidence and develop litigation strategies.
  • Provide counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical patent litigation, with specific expertise in Hatch-Waxman litigation preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant pharmaceutical industry fields.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), or ability to qualify for registration, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex scientific and legal issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including communicating effectively with clients and experts.
