Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a motivated Litigation/Employment Associate Attorney. This full-time role involves significant responsibility in both commercial litigation and employment law practice. The candidate will handle all aspects of assigned legal matters, including research, drafting, depositions, and court representation. The successful individual will possess the expertise to contribute to various phases of legal cases while maintaining strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of commercial litigation and employment law cases
  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct legal research and analyze case law
  • Handle discovery, including document review and depositions
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Provide counsel on management-side employment law matters
  • Draft and review employment policies and procedures
  • Conduct workplace interviews and investigations
  • Negotiate and draft employment-related agreements, such as job offers, compensation packages, and separation agreements

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial litigation or employment law (both are a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with document management software like NetDocuments (preferred but not required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan
