This role offers an opportunity to work with a leading group in the legal industry, specializing in the formation and management of various investment funds. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in investment management and fund formation, paired with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for building client relationships.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support on the formation and management of private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, and other alternative investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to advise clients on investment-related legal matters.
  • Engage directly with clients and contribute to the development of business strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and contracts related to investment funds.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the strategic growth and business development initiatives of the Investment Funds team.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in investment management and fund formation.
  • Experience representing various types of funds, including private equity, hedge, venture capital, real estate, and alternative strategy funds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on client interaction and relationship building.
  • Business development acumen, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the North Carolina Bar (or be willing to obtain Bar membership).

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of investment funds, including private equity, hedge, venture capital, and real estate funds.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
