Job Overview: A growing and innovative law firm is seeking a full-time Family Law Attorney to join its team in Arlington Heights, IL. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a fixed-fee model that eliminates the stress of billable hours. The attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of family law matters, including divorce, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and post-judgment cases, with a focus on delivering cost-effective solutions for clients.

Location:

  • Arlington Heights, IL

Duties:

  • Handle family law matters including divorce, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and post-judgment cases
  • Advise clients on litigation strategies and legal issues related to their cases
  • Research facts, financial records, expert reports, and applicable laws for each case
  • Develop case strategies aimed at achieving cost-effective resolutions for clients
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, exhibits, balance sheets, and support calculations
  • Represent clients in court, presenting evidence, testimony, and arguments
  • Collaborate with support staff and delegate tasks as needed
  • Mentor less experienced attorneys and work collaboratively with the legal team

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Bar license in good standing
  • Experience in family law practice and procedures in counties such as Cook, DuPage, Lake, and McHenry
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with support staff

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in the state of Illinois

Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in family law practice and case strategies
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively
  • Experience with court appearances and presenting legal arguments
