This role involves managing a significant caseload related to mortgage foreclosures, collections, and creditor’s rights matters. The position is ideal for an attorney with strong litigation experience, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the New York legal system. The role offers flexibility, with remote work and some travel required for court appearances.

Duties:

  • Manage a large volume of creditor’s rights cases, including mortgage foreclosures and collections.
  • Represent clients in New York state and federal courts, including bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Provide legal advice on matters related to TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and bankruptcy.
  • Attend court hearings and make necessary appearances as required by the caseload.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing trusted legal counsel.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth through leadership and participation in expanding the firm’s presence.

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Licensed or eligible for admission to New York federal district and bankruptcy courts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections.
  • Strong familiarity with creditor's rights laws and litigation procedures, including discovery and appeals.
  • Knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances as needed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active New York State Bar license (required).
  • Additional state bar admissions are a plus.

Skills:
