A law firm in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to handle a wide range of challenging and complex real estate matters. The ideal candidate will work alongside experienced attorneys in representing commercial lenders, private developers, companies with ancillary real estate needs, and large landowners.

Duties:

  • Handle complex real estate development, acquisitions, dispositions, and commercial leasing matters.
  • Represent commercial lenders and borrowers in real estate lending transactions.
  • Manage and close complex real estate purchase and sale transactions, including real estate development projects.
  • Assist clients with land use and zoning matters, providing strategic counsel on real estate development projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, including developers, landowners, and commercial entities, to meet their real estate needs.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local real estate laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on complex real estate finance matters, including mortgage lending.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on representing both lenders and borrowers.
  • Experience in real estate purchase and sale transactions, real estate development, land use and zoning, leasing, and mortgage lending.
  • Demonstrated understanding of real property law and commercial real estate finance.
  • Proven ability to independently manage and close complex real estate transactions.
  • Admission to the South Carolina Bar or eligibility to sit for the South Carolina Bar exam.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to negotiate complex agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide high-quality legal services.
  • Experience with land use and zoning is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Active South Carolina Bar license, or eligibility and willingness to take the South Carolina Bar.
