A law firm in Durham, NC, is seeking an experienced Community Associations Attorney to represent developers, lenders, landlords, and community associations. The role involves handling commercial real estate transactions, community association formation, governance, and compliance for residential, commercial, and mixed-use condominiums.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent developers, lenders, landlords, and community associations in legal matters pertaining to community associations.
  • Handle commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, purchase, financing, and leasing.
  • Assist with community association formation, registration, governance, and compliance.
  • Review, analyze, negotiate, and draft agreements, deeds, loan documents, leases, declarations, and covenants.
  • Manage legal staff and collaborate with other professionals to ensure timely closings and meet project milestones.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and perseverance in managing complex legal transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in Virginia.
  • 6-10 years of relevant legal experience specializing in community association law, real estate transactions, and related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of community association law, real estate regulations, and legal principles.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and manage legal team members.

Certifications:

  • Certification in community association law or real estate law (if applicable) is desirable.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
