Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Lead Attorney to oversee its Social Security Disability (SSD) team. This role involves managing day-to-day legal operations, ensuring compliance with Social Security Administration (SSA) regulations, and providing strategic guidance on complex SSD cases. The Lead Attorney will also mentor and supervise Hearing Attorneys, ensuring that all cases are handled efficiently and ethically. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with leadership experience in SSD law to play a pivotal role in guiding a legal team.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage the SSD legal team, overseeing case development and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with SSA regulations, as well as state and federal laws.
  • Provide strategic direction on complex cases, guiding the legal team through case preparation and filings.
  • Supervise and mentor Hearing Attorneys, offering support and guidance on legal practices.
  • Monitor the quality of legal work to ensure consistency and high standards across cases.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Hearing Attorneys, offering feedback and fostering professional development.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients with complex SSD cases, offering legal counsel and guidance.
  • Stay updated on changes to SSD laws and implement strategies to ensure firm compliance.
  • Develop and enforce internal procedures to meet SSA requirements and deadlines.
  • Work with clients, keeping them informed of case status and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Social Security Disability law.
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising and mentoring other attorneys.
  • Proven expertise in SSD case development, hearing preparation, and legal compliance.
  • Strong understanding of SSA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership skills.
  • Compassionate, client-focused approach with a strong commitment to client outcomes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License (Required).
