Trial Attorney Personal Injury

A law firm seeks a highly skilled and motivated Trial Attorney with experience in personal injury litigation to join its team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, a proven track record of handling trials, and the ability to manage a substantial caseload. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex cases, take on trial responsibility, and lead a litigation team. The successful candidate will be passionate about advocating for clients, with a commitment to providing exceptional legal services and maintaining long-term client relationships. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Duties:

• Manage cases from the filing of complaints to trial, ensuring timely and effective progress.
• Lead and collaborate with the litigation team, providing guidance and oversight.
• Take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts to build a case strategy.
• Review and finalize legal documents drafted by staff and associates.
• Develop and implement trial preparation and strategy, including drafting motions in limine and other key trial documents.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and settlement/dispositive proceedings such as mediations and arbitrations.
• Represent clients in jury trials, serving as first or second chair.
• Handle post-trial motions and provide post-trial support.
• Offer legal advice and strategy to clients, keeping them informed on case developments.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in personal injury litigation.
• At least 3-5 years of trial experience, including experience as first chair.
• Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong legal research, writing, and motion practice skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues and deliver strategic solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective client relationships.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Expertise in personal injury litigation and civil trial procedures.
• Proven experience handling depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Exceptional legal writing and research abilities.
• Strong negotiation skills for settlement discussions.
• Ability to manage a large caseload while ensuring high-quality client service.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
