A law firm in Stamford, CT, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its dynamic medical malpractice and personal injury group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of legal tasks, providing support in research, drafting legal documents, attending court hearings, and offering legal counsel to clients.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on various medical malpractice and personal injury issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Assist in case management and strategy development under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Review and analyze medical records and other case-related documents.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Connecticut State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • 1-5 years of experience in medical malpractice and personal injury law.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, client service, and ethical conduct.

 

Preferred Certifications:

Certification in medical malpractice law or personal injury litigation is advantageous.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal court procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
