A law firm seeks a shareholder-level Associate Attorney to join its Cedar Rapids, IA office. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience in business or employment litigation, workers' compensation defense, or municipal law, including real estate, contract law, and criminal prosecution. Duties:

  • Represent clients in business, employment, workers' compensation, and municipal law cases.
  • Handle all stages of litigation, from pre-trial motions to court appearances.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and discovery responses.
  • Provide strategic legal advice in complex legal matters involving business, real estate, employment, and criminal law.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to devise case strategies and provide leadership on legal matters.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships, offering regular updates and legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six years of experience in business and employment litigation, workers' compensation defense, or municipal law.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex legal matters in the relevant practice areas.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload and prioritize competing demands effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of Iowa or eligibility to obtain membership.
