A prestigious law firm is actively seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its highly respected Insurance and Reinsurance Litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of insurance coverage matters and a strong background in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. This role offers an opportunity to engage in complex, high-exposure coverage and reinsurance cases while contributing to a team of seasoned legal professionals.

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery documents
• Manage all stages of discovery and conduct discovery motion practice
• Take depositions and participate in court appearances
• Independently manage cases while collaborating with a team of attorneys
• Provide legal support on complex claims, including high-exposure coverage and reinsurance matters
• Foster business development and manage client relationships

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage issues under various policies (professional liability, general liability, D&O)
• Extensive experience in civil litigation, including drafting motions, conducting discovery, and taking depositions
• Proven track record in managing cases and developing client relationships

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington, DC
