The attorney will manage a diverse caseload, work closely with clients, and lead a team to ensure successful outcomes for those facing immigration challenges.

Location:

Duties:

  • Manage a large caseload of family-based immigration cases, with a focus on T visas and VAWA applications.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients, primarily undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America.
  • Conduct thorough research, draft legal documents, and develop strategic case plans to ensure the highest standards of legal representation.
  • Lead and manage a dedicated team of legal professionals to maintain high-quality case management.
  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings and advocate on their behalf before relevant authorities.
  • Stay updated on immigration law changes and implement innovative strategies to overcome legal barriers like the permanent bar and the 10-year bar through VAWA processes.
  • Maintain a client-centered approach, ensuring clear communication and exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.
  • At least 3 years of experience in immigration law, particularly with family-based immigration, T visas, and VAWA.
  • A strong commitment to humanitarian work, with a passion for helping victims of labor trafficking and extreme cruelty.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and case management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and handle a large caseload.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing legal landscapes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the United States.

Skills:

  • Strong advocacy and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and an innovative approach to legal challenges.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • High emotional intelligence and client relationship management.
