Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Salt Lake City is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Employment Law section. The ideal candidate will have experience in labor and employment law, particularly in employment and labor law litigation. This role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of complex employment-related matters in a dynamic legal environment. Location:

  • Salt Lake City, Utah

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment law-related litigation, including cases involving labor law, wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage disputes.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on employment law issues.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as required.
  • Provide counsel to clients on employment-related legal matters and risk management.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys on case strategy and client development.
  • Manage case files and deadlines effectively with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, is preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials with a demonstrated commitment to ethical legal practice.
  • Motivated, hardworking, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active membership in the Utah Bar or willingness to become a member upon hire.
  • If not currently a member of the Utah Bar, candidates must be a member of the bar in another U.S. state.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Utah Bar or ability to obtain membership.
  • Membership in another state’s Bar may be considered.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment law.
  • Litigation experience, including case preparation, depositions, and trial support.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
