  • Duties:

    • Partner with the firm's and in-house teams to develop and execute thoughtful and effective global IP strategies.
    • Draft and prosecute patent applications.
    • Draft opinions of counsel.
    • Conducted due diligence investigations and performed freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.
    • Provide opportunities for strategic counseling through client-facing interactions.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
    • Attend and present at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to promote the firm and attract new business.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and support staff.
    • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategic office growth and improvement initiatives.
  • Requirements:

    • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related fields of study and relevant experience.
    • Must be USPTO registered.
    • 5 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience required.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing or mentoring a team.
  • Education and Certifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the State Bar of Washington (or ability to become admitted).
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in drafting patent applications and conducting patent prosecution.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate complex legal issues to clients and colleagues.
    • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
    • Leadership skills to mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with firm management.
