Location: New York, NY

Duties:

  • Research case law related to personal injury, premises liability, medical malpractice, and other relevant areas of law.
  • Gather and assess critical evidence, including insurance policies, medical records, medical expenses, and other documentation pertinent to cases.
  • Record, update, and track the status of case files in a case management system.
  • Draft, review, and modify legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal correspondence.
  • Manage and delegate tasks to a team of litigation paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, and legal secretaries.
  • Oversee the entire personal injury case process from beginning to end.
  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal counsel to prospective clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial work, preferably in medical malpractice, wrongful death, or civil litigation.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, tort law, medical terminology, and related legal areas.
  • Ability to handle complex cases from start to finish.
  • Excellent drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in New York State.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and case law analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities.
  • Skilled in case management and legal document preparation.
  • Leadership experience in managing support staff.
