A law firm in Albany, GA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases from initial contact through resolution, ensuring exceptional client communication and case management. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized individual with a strong background in workers' compensation law and excellent interpersonal skills.

Duties

  • Opening new files and making the initial client contact; maintaining regular communication with clients.
  • Fully investigate each case, gathering and analyzing intake information and relevant documents.
  • Entering pertinent information into the database.
  • Verify insurance coverage and liability issues; maintain contact with insurance companies.
  • Manage clients’ medical care; constantly communicate with clients and medical providers.
  • Scheduling and calendaring medical appointments; explaining procedures and related documentation to clients.
  • Continuously monitoring case status; reviewing medical records.
  • Organizing and maintaining case files; preparing files to be submitted to demand writers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Worker's Compensation experience.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with clients, field associates, and vendors.
  • Capacity to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work on the phones for extended periods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistent record of attendance, reliability, and integrity.
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology (a plus).
  • Spanish speaking (a plus).

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • JD from an accredited university.
  • FL Bar Admission.

Certifications

  • FL Bar Admission is required.
